Hospitality professionals from across 11 countries, including over 15 representatives from Maldives, are set to come together at the upcoming second edition of the International Housekeepers’ Summit (IHS).
Supported by the Maldives Housekeepers’ Forum (MHF) and eight similar associations from other Asian countries, more than 300 delegates will come together at IHS 2017, which would be held at Sahara Star Mumbai from September 8-9, to “Energise the Synergies” between housekeepers and other departments to pave the way for a sustainable personal and professional growth.
Highlights of IHS 2017:
- Two-day Conference
- Asian Housekeeping Awards
- One-to-one meeting with buyers
- Fashion Show
IHS 2017 will have the participation of housekeepers, general managers, purchase heads and laundry managers, in several highly interactive sessions, including those on topics such as housekeeping on the digital platform, education and training, outsourcing and sustainability, quality and procurement, and linen care and longevity amongst others.
“A delegation of over 15 corporate/executive housekeepers, director of rooms and general managers will be attending the summit from the Maldives. We are launching the Asian Housekeeping Awards this time, and are eagerly looking forward to it,” Ahmed Siaar, President and Founder of Maldives Housekeeper’s Forum, was quoted in a statement, as saying.
The awards, which will be given away at a grand function alongside the second edition of the Uniforms a Fashion Statement show on designers’ collection of hotel uniforms, will recognise only one housekeeper in the entire Asia region for their outstanding contribution to housekeeping. The winner will hold the title of Best Housekeeper in Asia for a year.
“During the year, the winner will work towards the betterment of housekeeping. We are also encouraging the Assistant Housekeepers, who will take the legacy forward by learning the best in housekeeping today,” Hari Krishnan, General Secretary of the Maldives Housekeepers’ Forum, said, in the statement.
Organised by Mumbai-based Clean India Journal, India’s only monthly on cleaning technology, hygiene solutions and facility services, and Asian Housekeepers’ Association, which was formed at last year’s edition of IHS, IHS 2017 is set to be an excellent platform for one and all to network, enhance knowledge and do business across Asia.
